IN UK ‘ALL TIME GREAT’ ROLLERCOASTER ELECTIONS AT ALTON TOWERS RESORT

Alton Towers Resort, home to the world’s greatest rollercoasters, has launched a nationwide poll to find the King of its Coasters and needs your vote now. Will it be the gravity defying Nemesis, high speed Rita, Oblivion with its awesome 60m drop, Air, the world’s first flying coaster or TH13TEEN, the world’s first free fall drop coaster?

Polls opened on Wednesday 13 July and will be open until end August 2011. 30,000 votes were polled in the first 7 days with Nemesis in the clear lead so far. In an unprecedented move, and as part of the campaign, the Resort has opened up a place for one member of the public to be part of its hitherto top secret Coaster Design Team tasked with creating the next big ride to open at the park in Spring 2013.  Voters will also be able to win short breaks at the Resort, money off tickets and other spot prizes.

Katherine Duckworth, Head of Consumer Marketing at Alton Towers Resort, commented:  “What makes the King of the Coasters?  Alton Towers Resort has five world-class coasters but we are truly curious to find out which one of our rides is considered the all time greatest. “The public’s vote will help us create a coaster that will take the crown in 2013.”
