Expansion At Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark Means More Summer Jobs

Schlitterbahn is now accepting online applications to hire more than 600 seasonal staff members to fill summer jobs.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Schlitterbahn Waterpark is currently accepting online seasonal employment applications for the 2012 season. With a huge expansion that includes Kansas City’s only surf ride, a mammoth rapids river, two head-first mat slides, a totally enclosed dark tube slide, a fast-flow tube chute and ride-up Aqua Veyer, the park will hire more staff members than ever before.

More than 600 seasonal employees are needed to fill open positions which include food and beverage personnel, lifeguards, cashiers, retail assistants, maintenance workers, landscaping crew and more. Potential staff members should be at least 16 years of age and able to work throughout the summer months, including weekends and evenings.

“We are excited about assembling our largest summer team to date as we prepare to introduce a long list of great new attractions and other guest amenities for the 2012 season,” said Keith Fontenot, general manager for Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark. “We strive to offer our staff members the best work experience and a competitive compensation plan, including an end of the season bonus program.”

Those interested in job opportunities are encouraged to apply online in the Jobs section at schlitterbahn.com starting Monday, March 5. Online applications may also be submitted in person Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Staff Services office at 1709 North 98th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66111. Once an application is submitted, it is reviewed by Schlitterbahn staff and applicants are contacted to schedule interviews.

You must be a card-carrying member of a recognized roller coaster or amusement park enthusiast club (ACE, NAPHA, etc.) or a guest of a card-carrying member to participate in the KC BahnCon event. Membership cards are required at time of check-in.

Event Schedule

8:30 a.m.—Parking Lot Open. Parking is FREE. Check-In at Park Entrance. All guests receive a Schlitterbahn Water Safety Drink Bottle with unlimited refills all day long and other Schlitterbahn goodies.

8:30-9:00 a.m.—Hot Breakfast & Mimosas in air conditioned comfort at Das Lagune

9:00-10:00 a.m.—ERT! Enjoy the entire park for one hour before it opens to the public.

10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.—Enjoy the Park!

1:00-2:00 p.m.——Catered Lunch! Fajita buffet, margaritas and open bar. Lots of prizes and fun for all.

Orders must be prepaid by August 10, 2011 to receive the $10.00 + tax rate.

Walk up orders are accepted on the day of the event at $15.00 + tax per person. All tickets are distributed at the check-in window on the day of the event when you present your club membership card. Tickets are not shipped in advance. Season Pass holders who wish to participate in event activities must purchase a KC BahnCon Event Pass. Event Pass includes continental breakfast, exclusive ride time, park admission, lunch & all other event activities.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Opens Saturday and Announces Special Events

The park is now open weekends with daily operation beginning May 28.
   
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Schlitterbahn declares this weekend as the official beginning of summer. It is time once again for guests at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kan., to splash and play throughout a tubing adven­ture that combines slides, rivers, chutes and beaches as the park opens for the season on Saturday, May 21. The park also kicks off the season on this day with LIFTED UP: Faith & Family Day, the first of many special events included with admission to Schlitterbahn this year.

Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark features a thrilling uphill water coaster, two mammoth tubing rivers includ­ing the world's longest tidal wave river, three huge slides, a white water tube chute, 13 mini slides for kids, three relaxing beach areas and a giant hot tub with swim-up refreshment bar. The Transportainment™ River System allows guests to float from one end of the park to the other through a series of attractions without ever leaving the water.

On May 21, Schlitterbahn Waterpark also presents LIFTED UP: Faith & Family Day, the first of many special events planned for the season. Area church bands perform live music all day, and the festivities end with a con­cert featuring 33 Miles, Jonny Diaz and SameState. Entertainment for all special events is included with park admission.

Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark Announces Six New Attractions As Part of a Multi-Million Dollar Expansion for 2011

2011 season introduces the region's only Boogie Bahn surf ride, three slides, record-breaking rapids river, whitewater tube chute, ride-up Aqua Veyer, additional attractions and guest amenities.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Visitors from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico visited the new Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark during its first full season of operation in 2010. The huge success of last summer paves the way for a multi-million dollar 2011 expansion including the region’s only Boogie Bahn surf ride, three slides, record-breaking rapids river, whitewater tube chute, ride-up Aqua Veyer, additional attractions and guest amenities.

The New Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark Is Open Daily Starting Friday, May 28 With Special Discounts To Officially Kick Off The Summer Season.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – You no longer need to spend hours of driving in order to spend a hot summer day float­ing in a tube on a refreshing river. The new Schlitterbahn Vacation Village Waterpark in Kansas City, Kan., is open daily for the summer season beginning Friday, May 28, providing the areas only tubing adventure that combines slides, rivers, chutes and beaches to create a complete family waterpark experience. And if the park’s everyday amenities like free parking, free use of tubes and lifejackets and the opportunity to bring your own pic­nic inside the park are not enough, there are even more special discounts available for the holiday weekend.

This weekend is the last chance to buy 2010 Season Passes at a discounted price at Schlitterbahn.com or at the park. In addition, those who buy or process a Season Pass at the park on May 28-31 also receive a free sports bottle that can be refilled at the park all summer long for just 99¢, and they can bring a friend this weekend for just $12.50 plus tax (one discounted friend admission per pass holder per day). All Season Pass holders also receive a coupon book packed with great discounts on food, merchandise, lockers and admission tickets.

All-Day General Admission for guests ages 12-54 is only $32.99 plus tax and All-Day Child/Senior Admission for guests ages 3-11 and 55 & older is only $24.99 plus tax. Additional waterpark attractions, lodging facilities and the Riverwalk shopping area will be introduced throughout the next few years. When complete, the resort will be a year-round retail and attractions destination with more than 4 miles of interconnected rivers that carry guests between cabins, treehauses, a full-services hotel, a world-class waterpark and the Riverwalk with destination shopping, dining and other entertainment.
