KNOTT’S GOES BACK TO ITS ROOTS WITH A DOWN HOME COUNTRY FAIR

BUENA PARK, Calif. – It’s time for a good old fashioned Country Fair at Knott’s Berry Farm this spring.  From pig races to pie eating contests, Knott’s Berry Farm will bring back the best of what everyone loves about country fairs.

Starting April 16th and running through Easter Sunday, April 24, Knott’s Country Fair will include competitive games, unique exhibits, and contests that the whole family will enjoy.

As guests enter the park they will be greeted by Knott’s Berry Farm’s own Jug Band “The Jugger-Knotts,” and as they make their way through Knott’s Ghost Town they can take in special demonstrations including blacksmithing, woodworking, and weaving and spinning.  Knott’s Wilderness Dance Hall will be filled with a HO model railroad exhibit for all the train enthusiasts as well as cooking and gardening demonstrations.  Kids can also participate in Cowboy 101 and learn the ropes of being a real cowboy.

Guests will hear the squealing coming from Calico Square as Knott’s welcomes the Alaskan Racing Pigs (April 16-19) as well as learn what it takes to raise farm animals from local high school agricultural departments (April 21-24).  Also in Calico Square, guests can take part in some friendly competitions with the egg and spoon race, pie eating contest and the delicious cake walk.  Guests will also have the opportunity to try their skill at horse shoes and milk can toss.
For those who want to travel back in time, Knott’s will have on display antique  farm equipment from the turn of the century including such industrial equipment as a corn grinder, hack saw and even ringer washing machines.

In the evening Calico Square will have guests kicking up their heels with line dancing, square dancing demonstrations and the Big Fat Steve Band performing their unique blend of rockabilly and Western swing.

The best of fair food will also be available including roasted corn, delicious ribs, fresh kettle corn and of course Knott’s famous funnel cakes.  For a great meal and a great deal guests can purchase the Backyard BBQ which includes an all-you-can eat meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and more as well as a ticket into the park for only $43.99 for adults and $32.99 for juniors (3-11) and seniors (62+).  Dates of Backyard BBQ are March 26, 27, April 9, 10, 16-24, 30 and May 1.

All this fair fun is included in the price of admission of only $56.99 for regular admission and $24.99 for juniors (3-11) and seniors (62+), or guests can purchase a season pass for only $59.99.
