STAR WARS™ Fans Storm LEGOLAND® California

Two-day Event Features Droid Hunt,
daily costume contests and a visit from
the Dark Lord himself

CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 7, 2010) –   The Force was strong at LEGOLAND® California today as thousands of STAR WARS™ fans descended on the family theme park in Carlsbad for LEGO® STAR WARS™ Days.  The two-day event features Darth Vader and his 501st Legion of stormtroopers interacting with guests, as well as out-of-this-world activities like the Droid Hunt, video game battles, building activities, trivia competitions, costume contests and the LEGO STAR WARS™ Word Scramble in Miniland, U.S.A.

One of the most popular LEGO STAR WARS™ Days events is the Droid Hunt. Guests of all ages receive collectible “droid badges” if they are among the first in line at The Beginning of the Park. When guests wearing the collectible droid badges are “caught” within the Park by members of the 501st Legion, they must respond to the question “How long have you had these droids?” to receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win fantastic LEGO STAR WARS™ and LEGOLAND California merchandise.

Other features and attractions include the LEGO STAR WARS™ Fan Gallery, highlighting LEGO STAR WARS™ creations built by local fans and LEGO Club members. For the first time ever this year, the Fan Gallery also features LEGO STAR WARS™ Fan Photography by Gareth Payne and Mike Stimpson. There are also Jedi Trivia Contests, which allow guests to use their STAR WARS™ knowledge to compete for fabulous prizes; and a Miniland U.S.A. word scramble activity to discover scrambled letters hidden by Boba Fett mini-figures. Those who locate all the letters and decode the secret phrase will be entered to win an exclusive LEGO STAR WARS™ Prize Package including a family four-pack of LEGOLAND California Resort tickets.

Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite STAR WARS™ characters and participate in the daily costume contest.  Prizes will be awarded in two age categories each day: 8 and younger and 9 to 15.  Each prize package is valued at more than $500 and includes exclusive LEGO STAR WARS™ toys, collectible gear and tickets to LEGOLAND California Resort.

The STAR WARS™ Days celebration continues tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. All STAR WARS™ Days Activities are included in the price of admission to LEGOLAND California. For more information, visit www.LEGOLAND.com.
