Kings Island Raising Money to Benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater Cincinnati Affiliate

By now you may have seen or heard that Kings Island is currently raising money to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater Cincinnati Affiliate.

Now through August 21, the park is selling little pink rubber ducks.  Guests then get to chuck these ducks into the fountains on International Street .  On Saturday, August 21 we’ll pull one lucky duck and the person that owns it will win a 2010 Toyota Yaris courtesy of Joseph Toyota of Cincinnati .

As of this morning we have sold 19,875 ducks for a total donation amount of $93,223!  We are very proud of this but our goal is $200,000 and I’ve got just 9 days left to get there.

I’ve been so moved by the stories I’ve heard from survivors and many others that have been touched by this disease that I don’t mind sending you this note asking for help.

If you’d like to help you can purchase a little pink duck at the park or online at:  www.visitkingsisland.com/forthecure

$5        = one duck

$20      = 5 ducks (buy 4, get 1 free)

$100    = 25 ducks (buy 20, get 5 free)

$250    = 65 ducks (buy 50, get 15 free)

$500    = 130 ducks (buy 100, get 30 free)

Several companies have generously made large cash donations which we’re obviously accepting as well.

Former Cincinnati Reds great and Hall of Famer Joe Morgan chucked a pink rubber duck into the fountains on International Street during his visit to the park. Now through August 21, the park is selling pink ducks at the park or online at www.visitkingsisland.com/forthecure to raise money for breast cancer awareness. All net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater Cincinnati affiliate.
