The Fairytale Town Troupers are proud to announce that Martial Arts Champion and Youtube Sensation MIEKE ROSECRANS will play the lead role in their next production:"The Monkey King: Bollywood SuperStar!", written & directed by John Lee, Fairytale Town's resident Theatre Arts Educator and multiple Elly Award winner for Excellence in Young People's Theatre.

 

Set in ancient China & India, this original stageplay re-imagines the mythological "Journey to the West" as a magical mash-up of modern movie musicals and Martial Arts mayhem. There's no singing, but plenty of music, dance and action in this family-friendly production. Mieke Rosecrans will be portraying the title role of "Sun Wu Kong, the Monkey King", the Kung-Fu Super Hero of the East who journeys to the West to seek the "Book of Enlightenment"--braving all manner of mystical monsters en route. Having won six State Belt Titles, three International Titles and thirteen Tournament Grand Championships--in addition to 121 Medals, Plaques, and First Place Trophies for her Martial Arts acumen, Mieke is a perfect fit for this fresh and exciting new all-ages entertainment. "The Monkey King: Bollywood SuperStar!" is a thrilling combination of "The Wizard of Oz", "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Enter the Dragon", interlaced with joyous dancing and hilarious hijinks, and all set to the tune of infectious, Bollywood-style melodies.

 

"The Monkey King: Bollywood SuperStar!" will be performed LIVE on the Mother Goose Stage at Fairytale Town on weekends beginning July 10. Performances are FREE with paid park admission.
