New country revue show begins this weekend
Valdosta, GA –Wild Adventures Theme Park (WA) debuts Country Rocks Live! a country music revue featuring hits from yesterday and today, Friday, May 21 in Adventure Playhouse. The show, running through August 15 is a unique collaboration between the park and Valdosta State University’s (VSU) Theatre Department.
The VSU Theatre Department produces seven performances throughout the academic year under the direction of a talented faculty, which includes professors Duke Guthrie and Jacque Wheeler. For Country Rocks Live!, Guthrie and Wheeler recruited the performers and assembled the technical and design team, some of which are students and professors at VSU. This is the first collaboration of its kind between WA and the university.
“The theatre department at VSU has established a solid reputation for producing top-notch theatrical performances,” said Director of Entertainment John Ancona. “Both Jacque Wheeler and Duke Guthrie are accomplished professionals with high expectations, so we knew they would deliver a first class show. The partnership between WA and VSU made perfect sense as we are committed to offering our guests quality entertainment.”
Country Rocks Live! performers include: Adam Galarza of Orlando, FL; Jessica Humphrey of Garland, TX; Katy Nichols of Elkhart, IN; Tim Olivar of Snellville, GA; Christen Orr of Lilburn, GA; and John Rawlings of Sarasota, FL. Members of the technical and design team include: Anna Alex, Sound Designer; Michael Elliott, Musical Direction; Marty Lynch, Lighting Design/Technical Director; and Robert Keith Pugh, Scene Designer.
