Brooke Burke from “Dancing With the Stars” Lights Up LEGOLAND® California's Holly Jolly Holidays!

WHAT: Brooke Burke from the number one rated TV show “Dancing with the Stars” is coming to Carlsbad to help light the world’s largest LEGO® Christmas tree at LEGOLAND® California’s eighth annual Tree Lighting Ceremony honoring Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity whose network of global volunteers is dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children and young adults.

Burke is a successful host, actress and entrepreneur.  She can currently be seen co-hosting ABC’s hit competition show, “Dancing With The Stars,” with Tom Bergeron, having earned the coveted mirror ball trophy as season seven’s champion with her professional dance partner, Derek Hough.  The mother of four (all between the ages of 2 and 10) is Co-CEO of the popular website ModernMom.com, President of BabooshBaby.com and she will add author to her resume when Penguin Books publishes her first book, “The Naked Mom,” in February 2011.

After the 30-foot-tall LEGO tree is lit, fireworks light up the sky and snow showers Park guests from above kicking off LEGOLAND California’s month-long Holly Jolly Holidays presented by Western Dental.

More than 245,000 forest green DUPLO® bricks click together to create this one-of-a-kind holiday tree at LEGOLAND California. Adorned with nearly 400 LEGO ornaments including colorful bulbs and 1,000 lights, this LEGO brick tree towers over the main entrance of the 128-acre family theme park in Carlsbad.

Founded in 1982 by Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee and headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, Operation Smile has a presence in more than 60 countries and has treated more than 150,000 children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities since its founding. In addition to contributing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its partner countries and donates crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.
