Popular Theatre Arts FunCamp returns to Fairytale Town

Calling All Aspiring Young Actors!
DRAMARAMA! returns to Fairytale Town in March. It's a fast-paced and funny five-day FunCamp that covers the essentials of Theatre Arts education. Campers learn theatre games, exercises and storytelling experiments that involve movement, imagination and energetic interaction. The week culminates with a live variety show performance for friends and family on Friday, April 2nd.
"The goal is strengthening essential lifeskills", says Mr. Lee, Fairytale Town's Theatre Arts Educator and the creator of DRAMARAMA, "By the end of the week, most students will be able to stand up in front of a room full of people and express themselves. Clear, confident speaking voices and the ability to communicate without fear--that's the challenge. But we're also going to put some fun back in the fundamentals". The FunCamp will introduce students to basic breathing and posture exercises, stage movement, improvisation, pantomime, theatre games, some history and reading, even a little bit of Shakespeare--time permitting. "It's a solid foundation", says Mr. Lee. "DRAMARAMA is a great springboard for beginners and a fun refresher for little stage veterans. Fun is the primary goal".
Registration is now open, but spaces are limited. DRAMARAMA is scheduled for March 29 through April 2, Monday through Friday from 1PM to 4PM. The special FunCamp fee is only $95 for Fairytale Town Members, $130 for non-members. The five-day camp is open for children from 6 to 12 years of age.
