SEA LIFE™ Aquarium Dives into Halloween with Underwater Pumpkin Carving

WHAT: SEA LIFE™ Aquarium Carlsbad gets into the spirit of Halloween with an underwater pumpkin carving every Saturday during October, as part of the annual SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND® Brick-or-Treat celebration.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: SEA LIFE™ Aquarium Carlsbad – next door to LEGOLAND California

Media:  please call Darla Davis for specific directions – 858-997-8762

VISUAL:  A SEA LIFE diver is surrounded by curious spectator fish as the diver carves a very buoyant pumpkin from 10 feet below the surface of the 200,000 gallon aquarium.

DETAILS:  A SEA LIFE™ exploration diver sporting a communication mask, a small pumpkin carver and a flashlight (to light up the pumpkin after it is carved) carves a pumpkin from below the surface of the Aquarium’s Lost City of Atlantis. During the 20-minute pumpkin carving, curious fish check out the pieces of pumpkin that float to the surface and children in the Shipwreck Gallery watch in awe as the pumpkin develops into a fun, ocean themed jack-o-lantern.

The pumpkin carving is part of the annual Brick-or-Treat celebration taking place at SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND every weekend in October. Brick-or-Treat is the biggest kids’ Halloween celebration in San Diego and for the first time ever, SEA LIFE Aquarium gets into the spirit of Brick-or-Treat with its own Brick-or-Treat Trail Bonus station and Halloween versions of your favorite SEA LIFE shows! The Southern California Tide Pool is spooked with a Bonus Brick-or-Treat station where kids receive candy and other surprises while learning about the “monsters” of the deep from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
